Comma - when to use it in Portuguese

The comma is an essential punctuation in any text. Depending on where you put it, the meaning can change completely. However, follow these tips:

Use the comma before conjunctions: 

“mas - but”,
“porém - however”,
“entretanto - meanwhile”,
“todavia - nevertheless”,
“portanto - therefore”,
“logo - so”.

Use a comma after certain conjunctions, such as:
“além disso - moreover”,
“por exemplo - for example”,
“ou seja - that is”,
“aliás - in fact”, ",
“por assim dizer - so to speak”.

Use a comma to list more than two elements.
