Day of Russian Animation

Today is the day of Russian Animation. On April 8, 1912, the first Russian animated film, “The Beautiful Leukanida”, was released. It was a puppet animation made by Vladislav Starevich.

Since then, the Russian school of animation is highly developed and has a solid position in the art of world animation. Today it continues to surprise us with its great variety of styles and directions.
