Feast of Saint Lucia

Hi guys, :grinning:
in a couple of weeks we will celebrate Saint Lucia, precisely on December 13, tradition wants that on the night between 12 and 13 the Saint, riding his donkey, makes the rounds of the houses and leave the children gifts.
This is a blind Saint venerated as the protector of sight because it is said that her eyes were torn out.
Her name, Lucia, recalls the Latin word “lux”, which would mean “born with light”, evoking the episode of her blinding.
Consequently, the children must be in bed, because if Santa Lucia sees them still up, she will throw ashes on their eyes and blind them.
As a child I was always excited about the arrival of this wonderful day, so much so that if I knew I had done well at school before her arrival I would get lots of presents! :gift:
