New Year’s Eve in Lisbon

Lisbon’s New Year’s Eve boom takes place in Praça do Comércio (or Terreiro do Paço), with live shows and a fireworks display that lasts about 10 minutes.
New Year’s Eve in Porto
In Porto, the party has a special place on Avenida dos Aliados, right in front of the City Hall. Porto boasts one of the best fireworks displays in the country, and the night is also enlivened by several shows! Despite being a colder city than Lisbon, because it is so crowded, you don’t feel the low temperature so much, after all, there is plenty of human warmth.
New Year’s Eve in the Algarve
In Algarve, the region in the south of Portugal, with beaches and the warmest in the country. Its winter is almost unnoticeable and, maybe for this reason, it is such a sought after place by those who want to spend the new year in Portugal.
There are several options of cities where you can go, but the most sought after and that, in general, prepare the best parties, are: Albufeira, Faro, Tavira, Lagos, Vila Real de Santo António, Portimão and Quarteira.
New Year’s Eve in Coimbra
It also follows the same line as the others: supper at home or in a restaurant, and then fireworks and shows by the Mondego river. The concentration is in the Ponte de Santa Clara and Largo da Portagem. It gets really crowded and it’s a lot of fun!
