National Beer Day in the United States

Today is National Beer Day in the United States!

It is marking the day that the Cullen-Harrison Act was enacted by Franklin Roosevelt 1933. This law allowed the sale of beer that could contain up to 3.2% alcohol by weight.

Roosevelt made a famous remark: “I think this would be a good time for a beer.”

National Beer day was first celebrated in 2009 by Justin Smith of Richmond, Virginia and was officially recognized by Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe in 2017.

The 6th of April is known as New Beers Eve.

I personally did not know that. In Germany every day is a beer day!!!

Traveling around the world I tried a few different beers…one of my favorites was Pilsner Urquell from Czech Republic.

Do you have a favourite beer? :beers:
